John H. Mickler

John H. Mickler, 83, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Tuesday September 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 21, 1930 in Lawrenceville, IL the son of Gerald W. and Vivian (Hornbuckle) Mickler. John was married to Nell McCracken. She preceded him in death. Surviviors include a son: John R. and wife Jama Mickler of Gurley, NE, daughters: Jerianne and husband Jim Frey of Cody, WY, Vicki and her husband David Childress of New Harmony, IN, a brother: Dan and his wife Mary Mickler of Lawrenceville, IL, seven grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. His sister who died before him was Marianne Osborne. John worked in construction as a contractor. He built shopping malls, apartment complexes and commercial buildings. He trained race horses and rode in many rodeo's. His body is being cremated and will be interred in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
