John R. Mckim

John R. McKim, 77, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 30, 1941 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Floyd and Mable (Winters) McKim. He married Barbara McAdow on January 21, 1959 and she survives. John was the owner and operator of McKims Food, Inc. His memberships included the New Hope Christian Church, Kiwanis, Moose, Elks, VFW, and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. He was the Senator of Wetterau Foods and on the Board of Directors with Peoples National Bank. John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son, Brett McKim of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one daughter, Stacy McKim of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Josh Manley, Zach Manley, and Nicole McKim; two sisters, Susan Kavanaugh of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sandy Polk and husband, Jerry, of Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and best friend and brother, Tony Wolfe of Evansville, Indiana. Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the White House Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's memory may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
