John W. Goodart

John W. Goodart, 85, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday night August 17, 2009 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.He was born September 26, 1923 in Lawrence County, IL the son of John Wesley and Essie(Stillwell) Goodart. He first married Mary Lorraine Davis on September 19, 1942. She preceded him ion death September 12, 1992. He then married Theo Morey on June 25, 1994. She survives.He is survived by 2 sons: David Goodart of Lawrenceville, IL, Michael Goodart of Columbus, IN, 2 daughters: Deanna Felton of Charleston, IL, Susan Beline of Orlando, FL, 2 step-sons: Dennis Bridwell of Lawrenceville, IL, Les Baker of Lawrenceville, IL, a step-daughter: Linda Blevins of Lawrenceville, IL, 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. A brother and sister are deceased.John owned the Goodart Furniture Store in Lawrenceville and worked for Sheehan Pipeline as a trucker for 20 years. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Central Christian Church.The funeral will be Friday at 1:00pm at the Central Christian Church. Burial will follow at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Visitation is also Friday from 11:00am until the service hour of 1:00pm at the church.Memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Senior Citizens.
