John Gajewski, age 96, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born March 26, 1919, in Whiting, Indiana, the son of Michal and Anna (Broda) Gajewski.
John was a veteran with the United States Army, having served in the Philippines during WWII. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Florida. Other memberships include VFW Post 10209 in Florida, Polish American Social Club in Holiday, Florida and the Polish Legion of American Veterans.
Preceding John in death were his parents, his first wife Loretta Gajewski, and his second wife Josephine Strojny-Gajewski.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie (Jerry) Pacholski of Lawrenceville, Patricia (Paul) Schweet of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and Sandra Boldon of Alturas, California; three grandchildren Anthony Pacholski, Eric (Kelly) Schweet and Bryan (Lindsay) Schweet, along with five great-grandchildren Allison Pacholski, Taylor Schweet, Logan Schweet, Ryan Schweet, and Ella Schweet.
Services will be conducted at a later date in Florida Hills Memorial Gardens in Spring Hill, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
