John J. Fletcher

John J. Fletcher, 85, of Sumner, IL passed away Tuesday July 7, 2009 at Marion VA Hospital in Marion, IL.He was born September 5, 1923 in Olney, IL the son of  John Oscar and Sylvia (Earnst) Fletcher. He was married to Mildred Sager who passed away April 17, 1991.He is survived by 4 sons: Bill and wife Debbie Fletcher of Olney, IL, John A. and Betty Fletcher Olney, IL, Jerry and his wife Edna Fletcher of Evansville, IN, David and wife Anita Fletcher of Sumner, IL, 3 daughters: Connie and husband Stephen of Marshall, IL, Donna and husband Roy Lancaster of Sumner, IL, Nina and husband Larry Aldrich of Effingham, IL, Step-daughter: Alice Read of Olney, IL, 11 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. A brother and step-brothers and sisters are deceased.He retired from Roadmaster where he worked as a laborer. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII.The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00pm at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Amity Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 to 7:00pm.Memorial donations may be given to the marion VA Hospital.
