Joan L. Volkman

Joan L. Volkman, age 66, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on July 26, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Merle Davis and Beverly (Rowland) Henshilwood.

Joan worked at the Three & R Restaurant and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, spoiling her grandchildren, as well as playing Farmville, Bingo, and cards.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Robert C. Henshilwood and Donald L. Henshilwood; and one sister, Pam White.

Survivors include three children, Robert Volkman III of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Tonya Volkman and significant other, Jimmy Wells of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Danny Volkman and wife, Rudi of Texas City, Texas; one brother, Jeff Henshilwood and wife, Dena of Lowell, Arkansas; one sister, Julia Arnold of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Johnny Wells, Kelsey Wells, Daniel Volkman, Austin Volkman, Colton Volkman, Madison Volkman, and Noah Volkman; seven great-grandchildren; and significant other, Johnny Plowman of Lawrenceville, Illinois.

There will be no formal services conducted. Burial will be in the Billett Cemetery. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
