Jennifer Rose Lockhart, age 53, of St. Francisville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at her home. She was born on May 23, 1972 in Washington, Indiana, the daughter of James and Janet Wise Herring. She married Dean Lockhart on July 2, 1994, and he survives.
Jennifer was employed with Supportive Insurance Services as a licensing administrator and was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach and Disney World, and cherished making memories with her family. In celebration of Jennifer and Dean’s 30th wedding anniversary, the couple traveled to Hawaii, a trip she held dear. Jennifer was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed attending games with family and friends. She was a devoted and loving mother to her boys and shared a special, close bond with her sisters. She also shared a special bond with her faithful companion Cletus.
Preceding Jennifer in death was her father, James Herring and her nephew, Seth Wirth.
Survivors include her husband, Dean; two sons, Jordan Lockhart of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Shane Lockhart of Chicago, Illinois; her mother, Janet Herring of rural Bridgeport, Illinois; her mother in law, Janet Lockhart of Lawrenceville, Illinois; her sisters, Anne (Bill) Gartner of rural Lawrenceville, Cathy (Jerry) Wirth of Vincennes, Indiana, Julie (Shannon) Griesemer of rural Sumner, Monica (Chad) Kelly of rural Lawrenceville; her brothers in law, Mark Lockhart of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Leonard (Stacy) Lockhart of Salem, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, December 17 at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, December 16 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by the Rosary. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of Lawrenceville, Illinois.
