Jennifer 'Jenny' L. (Herrel) Grove

Jennifer "Jenny" L. (Herrel) Grove, age 59, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born December 3, 1955, in Evansville, In., the daughter of G. William "Bill" and Ruth (Barchet) Herrel. She married Allen Grove on January 9, 1976, and he survives. Jenny graduated from Lawrence Township High School in 1973. She worked as a Customer Service Representative at Cochran Insurance Agency for 19 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville,where she served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, and Sunday school teacher. Jenny and her dear friend Lynn Jacobson spent many years organizing the annual Relay for Life in Lawrence County. Those fortunate enough to know Jenny, remember her infectious laugh, warm smile and her positive outlook for life. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Preceding Jenny in death were her parents and a brother, Sam Herrel. Survivors include her husband, Allen, of Bridgeport; two sons Nicholas Grove of Bridgeport and Jared Grove (Ashley Sharp) of Bridgeport; two sisters, Holly Sotor (Ed) of Elmhurst, Illinois and Chrissy Shick (Andy) of Lawrenceville, and three grandchildren, Jada, Cash and Gracie. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning 10:00 am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe, or to the American Cancer Society.
