James Slover

James A. Slover, 82 of Adrian, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 04, 2013 at Promedica Bixby Hospital in Adrian He was born on October 8, 1930 in Bridgeport, Illinois, to Kenneth E. and Ellen V. (Reed) Slover. James was married to Shirley Smith and she preceded him in death. He served his country in the United States Army. James made a career as a laborer for Republic Steel, which later became LTV Steel in South Chicago, Illinois. Surviving is his son, Ken Slover of Clayton; a step-son, Donald Forrest of South Haven, IN; grandchildren, David Matthews of Westville, IN and Christina (Gary) Thompson of Lake Station, IN and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley and just recently a daughter-in-law, Connie S. Slover. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Sunday at Sumner Cemetery.
