James Doyle ‘J.D.’ Miller

James Doyle ‘J.D.’ Miller, age 52, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana. He was born on June 17, 1972 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Larry N. and Sue (Hunt) Miller.

J.D. served his country in the United States Army, during Desert Storm. He was a pipefitter for several years with Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local 136, a welder, and worked with his brother, Darrin, doing carpentry work. He was a member of the Wesleyan Christian Church. His hobbies included singing, writing songs, playing in several bands, fishing, and camping.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors include his mother, Sue Miller of Lawrenceville, Illinois; five children, Jessymn Vondra and husband, Darrick of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Amerae Vories and husband, Dalton of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Jayden Miller of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Wade Miller of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Ellie Miller of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one brother, Darrin Miller of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 PM CST until the service hour of 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
