James C. ‘Jim' Miller, 84, of Flat Rock, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 26, 1932 in Central City, Kentucky, the son of Hubert and Nellie (McLevain) Miller. He married Sherri J. Waters in Harrisburg, Illinois on February 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death on July 12, 2016.
Jim was a retired truck driver. He also sold insurance; and he and his wife managed a Shell gas station in Evansville, Indiana.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sherri; one infant daughter, Carlotta Sue; one brother; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include his three children, Terri Seessengood of Noble, Illinois, Karen Fredrick and her husband, Kenneth of Flat Rock, Illinois, and James Richard "Richie" Miller of Flat Rock, Illinois; one brother, Elmer Miller of Evansville, Indiana; two sisters, Ola Wandtke of Newburgh, Indiana and Joyce Tyler and husband, Fred, of Newburgh, Indiana; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
