Jackie E. Shick

Jackie E. Shick, age 75, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 03, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on August 19, 1948 in Billett, Illinois, the son of Clifford E. and Ila Jean (Harvey) Shick. He married Beverly Frey on April 11, 1969, and she preceded him in death on October 09, 2011.

Jackie served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He worked on the road as a pipefitter and welder, was an operator for Texaco, an owner operator of oil wells, and a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Billett Community Church and a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing and playing with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; one sister, and one grandson.

Survivors include four children, Chris Shick and wife, Ginger of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Will Shick and wife, Angie of Oaktown, Indiana, Jackie Shick of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Jeanie Ferrell and husband, Tyler of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three brothers, David Shick and wife, Julie, Henry Shick and wife, Belinda, and Mike Shick and wife, Casey all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two sisters, Annette Farrar and husband, Tom of St. Francisville, Illinois and Billie J. Tate and husband, Tim of Sumner, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM CDT at the Billett Cemetery, with military rites. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
