Hugh E. Livesay August 13, 1923 - December 24, 2011 Hugh E. Livesay, 88, of Lawrenceville died Saturday December 24, 2011 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 13, 1923 in Washington County, IL the son of Lewis and Dora (Haun) Livesay. On August 26, 1951 he married LaVonne Sheldon. She survives. Also surviving are two sons: Ray Livesay of Grayville, IL, Don Livesay of Lawrenceville, IL, a brother: Jim Livesay of Centralia, IL six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A daughter: Joan Livesay, five brothers and three sisters are deceased. Hugh was a Farm Advisor at the University of Illinois Extension Office for 30 plus years. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was active in 4H. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church where he was a longtime Treasurer and Deacon. He started the Lawrence County Farmers Market. He was instrumental in starting the Lawrence County Jr. Fair Program. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral home. Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00pm. A funeral will also be conducted Thursday at 3:00pm at the Fouts Christian Church near Centralia, IL with visitation from 2:00 until 3:00pm. Burial will be at the Fouts Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Lawrence County 4-H Building and Grounds Scholarship Fund, or to the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church Building Fund.
