Hugh E. Buchanan, 84, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. Born April 3, 1925 in Lawrenceville the son of Hugh E. Buchanan, Sr. and Sadie (Montgomery) Buchanan.   He married Mildred "Millie" Montgomery February 5, 1950 and she passed away May 8, 1999. He married his second wife Mima Crewell March 24, 2001 and she survives.Hugh worked at Texaco as a pipefitter/steamfitter. He was a member of the Billett United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the NRA and the American Legion. Hugh was a Veteran of the Army Air Corp, having served during WWII.Hugh was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.Survivors include his second wife, Mima; two sons Monty Buchanan of Jasper, IN and Mike Buchanan of Linton, IN; one sister Twyla Miller of Evansville, IN; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.The funeral will be 11:00 am Monday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.Visitation is Monday from 9:00 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
