Howard J. Linder, age 70, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on November 3, 1948 in Fairfield, Illinois, the son of Dale E. and Gloria J. (Abella) Linder. He was married to Anita Kay (Smith) and she passed away on April 25, 2019. Howard worked in the maintenance department for the United States Postal Service. He served his country with the United States Army. His memberships included the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include one son, Scottie Linder and wife, Elizabeth of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one daughter, Megan Plunkett and husband, Billy of Dexter, Missouri; one brother, Robert Linder of Fairfield, Illinois; two step-sons, Michael Oates and wife, Chanda of Central City, Kentucky and Joseph Oates of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; two step-brothers, Edward R. Tate and wife, Lea Ann of Lawrenceville, Illinois and James L. Tate and wife, Marion of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four step-sisters, Deloris Dunlap and husband, Ed of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Rosemary Wallesverd of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Karen Crews of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Peggy Tate and husband, Ziad Abazid of Princeton, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. There will be a Rosary Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 6:00pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 10:00am at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be given to the family for expenses.
