Henri Etta Carie

Henri Etta Carie, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her residence.  She was born June 21, 1939, in Michigan, the daughter of Ralph Wease and Elizabeth Stone Wease.  She married Walter Randy Carie February 28, 1958, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2017.

Henri Etta was a homemaker.  She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Olney for fifty plus years.  Henri Etta enjoyed reading, singing, playing the piano, painting, crafts, bird watching and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed many Friday nights eating catfish from Gray’s.

Preceding Henri Etta in death were her parents, husband, siblings: Victor Shipley, Norval Wease, and Patty Tenney.

Survivors include: children, Burkley (Connie) Carie of Lawrenceville, Francis (Kathy) Carie of Lawrenceville; siblings, Sarah Harrington of Tucson, Arizona, Phyllis Walker of Salem, Illinois, Cheryl (Jerry) Doss of Tipton, Missouri; grandchildren, Melisha Carie, Kaleb Bracken; great-grandchildren, Thadeus Gill, Cyrus Carie, Loki Ashley, Sahannah Bracken, and Kainen Bracken.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 2. 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. till the service hour of 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Faith Bible Church in Olney or Good Samaritan Hospice.
