Helen Campbell, the daughter of Joseph York and Suzanna Barrix King was born on April 13, 1938, in Flat Rock, Illinois. She passed away at her residence on October 17, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Helen's unwavering spirit and dedication to her family were the cornerstones of her personality. Known for her work ethic, she successfully owned and operated several restaurants throughout her career and worked diligently at White's Kitchen in Vincennes until its closing. Her versatility was evident as she engaged in factory work and various endeavors, always with the intent to provide for her large family.

A hardworking mother, Helen's legacy extends beyond her professional achievements. She cherished her time spent fishing, gardening, and proudly tending to her flowers and koi ponds. Enjoying backyard BBQs, she created numerous treasured memories with family, often dining at Ponderosa, which was a favorite gathering place. Her vibrant personality shone through in her love for yard sales and the joy she found in everyday activities.

Helen is survived by her loving children: Susan Banks of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Anita (Gary) Murry of Winslow, Indiana; David Harvey of Evansville, Indiana; Paul Campbell Jr. of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Joseph Campbell of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Jeff Campbell of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Richard Campbell of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Michael (Beth) Campbell of Nashville, Tennessee; Christina "Chicken" (Rich) Campbell of Birds, Illinois; Stacie Cozart (Bryan) of Sumner, Illinois; Lori (Lynn) Mieure of Lawrenceville, Illinois; Thomas Campbell of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Bruce Keener II of Columbus, Ohio. Her family was further enriched by 35 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren who will remember her with love and fondness. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Sandy "The Baconator" Hager.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Billy Campbell. With a profound impact on her family and community, Helen Campbell will be remembered not only for her industrious life but also for the warm and loving environment she fostered, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come.

Visitation will be held on October 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey, located at 1303 12th St, Lawrenceville, IL 62439. No formal services will follow visitation.
