Hazel L. Pinkstaff

Hazel L. Pinkstaff, 97, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away March 7, 2009 at United Methodist Village North Campus.  She was born March 21, 1911 in Lawrence County, IL.  She married Hugh C. Pinkstaff January 12, 1926 and he passed away April 13, 1988.Hazel worked as a nurse's aide at Good Samaritan Hospital.  She also worked as a private nurse until the age of 90.  Hazel was a member of the Bee Branch Community Church and a member of Home Extension, as well as the Sewing Club.Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Perkins and Joan Pinkstaff both of Lawrenceville; two half-brothers Walter Stevenson and Donald Stevenson, both of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one half-brother.The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
