Hayward Seber, born on May 15, 1947, and passed away on July 13, 2025. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of love, leadership, and laughter that will live on through all who knew him.
He was the devoted husband of Cynthia Sue Seber for 59 years, proud father of Tom and Andy, and cherished grandfather to Luke and Drew Seber. He had a heart of gold and was the rock of his family — someone you could always count on for support, wisdom, and kindness.
Hayward retired from Marathon Refinery after a long and dedicated career. He also served as president of Ambraw Credit Union- just one of the many ways he stayed active and involved in the community. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady character, and genuine kindness.
Outside of work, he enjoyed golfing, playing cards with friends and family, working on projects around the house, and playing bocce ball and spending time with neighbors hosting driveway parties. He especially loved warm weather and spending time surrounded by those he loved.
His warm presence, quick wit, and steady love will be deeply missed. As a tribute to Hayward, who found joy and solace on the golf course, consider dedicating your next round to his memory.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 19 from 11:00 am – 12:45 pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 19 at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrenceville Senior Citizens Center.
