Harrison Cozart

Peter Harrison Cozart, 91, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday January 11, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.He was born February 8, 1917 in White County, IL the son of Claud and Gertie Mae (Hall) Cozart. He married Lois French on October 22, 1946. She survives.Also surviving are 2 daughters: Annetta (Larry) Lockhart of Lawrenceville, IL, Judy (Jay) Knoerr of St. Petersburg, FL, 2 sisters: Peg (Bill) Barnett of Youngstown, OH, and Rosaline (Bill) Potts of Griffith, IN. 3 brothers and 2 sisters are deceased.He retired from Texaco Refinery after 40 years. He was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church in Orio, IL where he served as Elder and was a member of the Building Committee, and the Cemetery Committee. He served in the US Army and was a recipient of the Purple heart.The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30am at the Wabash Presbyterian Church in Orio with burial to follow at Orio Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.Memorial donations may be given to the Wabash Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
