Harriet Ann Whittaker Ellis, age 89, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on September 19, 1933 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Ed and Lois (Childress) Whittaker. She married Thomas D. Ellis on March 03, 1956, and he preceded her in death on May 07, 1973.

At the age of four, Ann attended the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, Illinois, and then went on to attend St. Louis Business College. She was a homemaker and raised her three daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family, photography, crafting, tending to her flowers, as well as collecting stamps and dolls. She was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, where she cleaned for many years and was the Sunday School Secretary for over 30 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and one sister, Nellie Brenton.

Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Beanblossom and husband, Richard of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Marsha Sobota and husband, John of Wheaton, Illinois, and Harriett Williams of Canton, Illinois; one step-daughter, Janet Caswell of Murphysboro, Illinois; one sister, Jo Whittaker Gardner and husband, Dick of Lawrenceville, Illinois; six grandchildren, Amanda Shaffer and husband, Brady, Todd Beanblossom, Stacey Wilson and husband, Zac, Michael Sobota and wife, Meghan, Crystal Brewer and husband, Josh, and Jacob Williams and wife, Shelby; nine great-grandchildren, Colton Shaffer, Carson Shaffer, Camryn Shaffer, Harley Beanblossom, Letti Beanblossom, Shane Wilson, Noah Sobota, Kahyden Bishop, and Theodore Williams; three nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pollard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Senior Citizens or Good Samaritan Hospice.
