Harold 'Red' L. Fiscus

Harold L. "Red" Fiscus, 78, of Sumner, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born February 20, 1938, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Omer Floyd and Mary (Piper) Fiscus.  He married Sherron Corbin on November 20, 1959, and she survives. "Red" worked for John Spitler's Grocery Store in Sumner and was an oilfield worker.  He retired as a heavy equipment operator with Local 841. "Red" was a member of the National Guard.  He enjoyed going to the local restaurant in Sumner and visiting with friends.  He also enjoyed camping and watching Nascar races. Preceding "Red" in death were his parents; two brothers, Tom Fiscus and Roger Fiscus; one sister, Lois Hanratty, and one granddaughter, Melissa Fiscus. Survivors include his wife, Sherron, of Sumner; three sons, Danny Fiscus and wife Kathy of rural Sumner, Mike Fiscus and his wife Tracy of Vincennes, Indiana; Terry Fiscus (Penny) of Sumner; two daughters, Debbie Hussey and her husband Bruce of Jackson, Tennessee and Tammy Coleman (Alan) of Bicknell, Indiana; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery.
