Harmon Reece Parrott

Harmon Reece Parrott, age 95, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born on September 05, 1929 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Veris and Mary (Gray) Parrott.

Harmon served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer, worked at Texaco, and owned HR Parrott Trucking. His memberships included the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, where he served as superintendent; and he was a former member of the American Legion. He enjoyed family gatherings, mowing, splitting firewood, and clearing fence rows. He instilled a good work ethic in his children.

Preceding him in death were his parents; the mother of his children, Ada Parrott; one brother, Donard Parrott; and one grandson, Thaddeus Keen Parrott.

Survivors include three children, Sue Litherland and husband, Gordon of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Gregory Parrott and companion, Sarah Jennings of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Ronald Parrott of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Kennard Parrott and wife, Joyce of Lake Wales, Florida; seven grandchildren; Tonya Sullivan and husband, John, Jody Brinkman and companion, Jason Wallace, Tyler Parrott and wife, Jessica, Emily Verone and husband, Alec, Zane Parrott and wife, Jennifer, Jessica Aten, and Shelly Parrott and companion, BJ Shick; seven great-grandchildren, Jack Sullivan, Mason, Alice, and Smith Parrott, Ellen, Jillian, and Lauren Verone, Cayden and Cole Jones, Eliott and Emitt Parrott, Dylan, Laney, and Leah Aten, and Maggie and Eliza Kasinger.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 04, 2025 at 1:00pm CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00am CST until the service hour of 1:00pm CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, the Lawrence County Senior Citizens or the Oblong Children’s Home.
