Gregory A. Dugger, 63, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born September 1, 1953 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Stanley Dugger and Audrey (Tucker) McBride. He married Deona Lancaster on July 22, 1972 and she survives. Greg retired from Marathon Refinery in 2013 after working there for 34 years as an operations foreman. He was a member of the Bethlehem New Light Church, the Sumner Masonic Lodge #334, and was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rites of Danville. He enjoyed dirt track racing and horseback riding with his family; and was an avid Cubs fan. Preceding him in death were his father, Stanley Dugger; mother, Audrey McBride; step-father, Bill McBride; sister, Reyschia Barton; and granddaughter, Deona Elaine ‘Ellie' Dugger. Survivors include his wife, Deona; daughter, Brandy Whitney and husband, Brent; sons, Gregory ‘Troy' Dugger and William ‘Bill' Dugger and Whitney Spencer all of Sumner, Illinois; brother, Mark Dugger and wife, Elaine, of Greenville, Illinois; sister, Kim Bertino, and husband, Pete of Jerseyville, Illinois; and grandchildren, Braden Whitney, Baylee-Ella Whitney, Mason Dugger, Austin Dugger, and Paislie Holmes. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 29 at 12:00 PM at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 PM. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Greg's memory may be made to the Sumner Masonic Lodge #334.
