Gloria M. 'Beanie' Davis

Gloria M. "Beanie" Davis, 71, of Peoria, formerly of Lawrence County, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at her residence. She was born Oct. 19, 1942, in Vincennes, IN, to William Thomas and Ola Marie (James) Buchanan. They preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Rick (Ann) Davis of Parker, Colo.; two daughters, Tena (Dave) Brooks of Charlotte, N.C., and Kay (Brian) Frank of Peoria; one sister, Joyce (Waymond) Mitchell of St. Francisville, Ill.; and six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Beanie worked at Michelle Largent RE/MAX Unlimited. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren. A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 24, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. An additional visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Emmons-Macy-Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Ill., with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Burial of ashes will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
