Glendora Lillia Tracy, age 82, formerly of Lawrenceville and Robinson, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Casey Rehab and Nursing. She was born on September 24, 1942, in Biloxi, Mississippi, the daughter of Glenn Robert and Josephine Elizabeth (Calderone) Trueblood.
Survivors include three children, Jayel Seitzinger of Palestine, Illinois, Jill (Mike) Farley of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Joy (Hank York) Trimmer of Robinson, Illinois; her fraternal twin, Joe (Janet) Trueblood of Austin, Texas and another brother, William Trueblood of Crystal Springs, Florida; three sisters, Barbara Berardi of College Station, Texas, Rosalee Bateman of York, South Carolina, and Lena Trueblood of Pekin, Illinois; six grandchildren, Delaney (Georgia) Zev, Ian (Alyssa) Holden, Jake (Alexus) Seitzinger, Jack Henry Holden, Jayde Seitzinger (Grandma Whisperer), and Joel York; and three great-grandchildren, Phoenix Clay, Zoe Collins, and Brynlee Seitzinger.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, David Trueblood; and beloved grandchild, Duke Collins.
An impressive scholar, Glendora was a 1960 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Decatur, Illinois, a 1964 graduate of Millikin University, and a recipient of a master’s degree at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. Although she dreamed of becoming a dentist, her family came first. While her children were young, she shared her love of music and the arts with others, while teaching at Mother Goose Nursery School in Robinson. She also continued her passion for dentistry by working part-time as a dental assistant for James McGahey, DDS, in Robinson. Once her children were older, she had the freedom to explore a career in chemistry, working in laboratories for both Heath Candy Company and Marathon Oil Company in Robinson.
Between advancing her career, instilling the importance of education and independence upon her daughters, and attending countless school and sport functions, Glendora could be found playing tennis, bowling, and making friends in any social setting. Her artistic talents ranged from proficiency in multiple musical instruments, painting, and drawing. She would often break out in song – whether it be children’s tunes, Christmas carols, or classic oldies from her youth. This love of music was with her in her final days to everyone’s enjoyment. She also had a special place in her heart for animals of all kinds, and took pride in being a crazy cat lady. After a full life, she is now reunited with those who have crossed the rainbow bridge.
Private services will be conducted. Memorial donations may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
