Glenda Nell (Robbins) Murphy, age 64, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013, at her residence. She was born June 14, 1949, in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Alva Harold and Sharon Yvonne (Lewis) Robbins. She married John Murphy on June 2, 1973.
Glenda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Robinson Branch). She worked at American General Finance for 25 years.
Preceding Glenda in death were her parents, one brother, and one sister.
Survivors include her husband, John, of rural Lawrenceville; one son Michael Paul Robbins, II of Louisiana; two daughters Rebecca Lynne Murphy-Shank of Poland, Indiana and Lisa Yvonne Murphy-Moore of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two brothers David Ray Robbins of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Michael Paul Robbins of Mitchell, Indiana; one sister Tamara Edythe Robbins of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Derr Cemetery.
