Glenda Elaine Allen

Glenda Elaine Allen, age 69, of Dundas, Illinois, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on November 17, 1954 in Illinois, the daughter of Marion and Genelle M. (Fritchley) Ulrich. She married Farrell R. Allen on May 25, 1979, and he survives.

Glenda was a special education teacher’s aide. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Church. Her hobbies included crafting, painting, gardening, fishing, spending time with her grandchildren, working with special needs children, as well as trying new recipes and sharing them with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Larry Ulrich; and one step-daughter, Cindy Gray.

Survivors include her husband; two children, Matthew Allen and wife, Amy of Dundas, Illinois and Jason Allen and wife, Britney of Newton, Illinois; four step-children, Sharon Gramma, Paul Allen, Debbie Allen, and David Allen; three brothers, Lynn Ulrich and wife, Betsy, of Sumner, Illinois, Robert Ulrich and wife, Nancy, of Sumner, Illinois, and Mark Ulrich and wife, Barbara, of Colorado; one sister-in-law, Karen Ulrich of Sumner, Illinois; special close friend, Gwyn Wilson; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie Allen, Erica Allen, Riley Allen, Katelyn Allen, Cyrus Allen, Haven Fryman, Kenzie Fryman, Libby Allen, and Tucker Allen; one great-grandchild, Kaidge Armstrong; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2:30 PM CDT at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery.
