Gladys R. Burlingame

Gladys R. Burlingame, 93, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Sunday November 29, 2015 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville. She was born August 7, 1922 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Chester Cloyd and Rose (Yack) Mills. She married Forrest C. Burlingame Jr. in 1961. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2002. Gladys was a retired Registered Nurse. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She served in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a member of the American Veteran's (AMVETS), W.A.V.E.S. National, and the National Chief Petty Officer's Association. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. There will be a Graveside Service Wednesday at 12:00pm at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL with Full Military Honors. There is no visitation. The Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral home is handling the arrangements.
