George Henry Davis

George Henry Davis, age 87, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 09, 1933 in Wayne City, Illinois, the son of George and Opal May (Scearce) Davis. He married Elizabeth Theriac in 1972, and she survives.

George Henry was a logger. He worked on the garbage truck, as well as for the Lawrence County Golf Course, Bridgeport Water Department, Kelly Saw Mill, and the Poultry House in Olney. He was a member of the Hopewell Church in Sumner.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters; one daughter, Mary Jones; and one granddaughter, Gladys Jones.

Survivors include his wife; one child, William Anderson of Sumner, Illinois; one granddaughter, Ruby Jones; three nieces; and two nephews.

The body will be cremated and no services will be conducted. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
