Garnett Ruth Reynolds

Garnett Ruth Reynolds, age 99, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013, at Oakview Heights Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel, IL. She was born September 7, 1913 in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of Samuel R. and Martha A. (Taylor) Strange. She married Calvin L. Reynolds in December, 1931. Garnett was a homemaker and for some time a receptionist for The Illinois Baptist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. Preceding Garnett in death were her parents, her husband who was long time editor of The Daily Record, four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include one son Larry Dee (Lynn) Reynolds of Mt. Carmel, one brother Robert (Dixie) Strange of Lawrenceville, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville with envelopes available through the funeral home.
