Frederick M. Rigg

Frederick M. Rigg, 91, of Channahon, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Presence Villa Franciscan in Joliet, Illinois. He was born August 27, 1925 in Birds, Illinois, the son of Herman Harrison and Leona Stevenson Rigg. He married Anna Woods in May 1946 and she survives. Fred was a Navy veteran and retired from Caterpillar. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Channahon, Illinois. He loved traveling, square dancing, and visiting Pharr, Texas in the winter. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Herbert Rigg and Glenn Deloe Rigg; and two sisters, Helen Crouch and Thelma June Cummins. Survivors include his one brother, Laurie Jerry Rigg and wife, Joyce, of Florida; sister-in-law, Kay Rigg of North Carolina; niece and caregiver, Sue James of Lawrenceville, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM CST at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
