Fred S. Vinsel

Fred S. Vinsel, 73, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at the United Methodist Village. He was born March 5, 1943 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Willard O. and Golda Mae (Stevens) Vinsel. He married Sharon Johnson on February 15, 1974 and she survives. Fred worked for Thermogas as a driver and manager for 30 years. He enjoyed attending dirt track races and cruising around town. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Harold Vinsel and Donald Vinsel; and sisters, Karen Tolliver and Barbara Wright. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; sons, Steven Vinsel, and his wife, Peggy, of Madison, Alabama, Kevin Vinsel and his wife, Ann, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Mike Vinsel of Centralia, Illinois; step-son, Troy Stuart, and his wife, Julie of Washington, Indiana; five grandchildren, Autumn Campbell, Tess Vinsel, Kameron Vinsel, Matt Stuart, and Austin Vinsel; and two great-grandchildren, Gunner Campbell and Attie Campbell. Fred's wishes were to be cremated and that no services were to be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Fred's memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
