Fred R. Murphy

Fred R. Murphy, 65, of  Lawrenceville passed away Wednesday February 18, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centrailia, ILHe was born August 5, 1943  the son of Bruce and Helen (Ballou) Murphy. He married Mary Arvin on December 31, 19994 . She survives.He is also survived by a son: Nathan and wife Vanessa Allen of Aviano Air Force Base, Italy, a daughter: Amanda Allen of Vincennes, IN, a brother: Emmitt Murphy of Colorado, and a granddaughter: Leilani Allen. One brother is deceased.He was a union worker and worked as a sprinkle fitter. He was a member of the Oasis Fellowship Christian Church in Vincennes, IN He was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam.The funeral will be Saturday February 21, 2009 at 1:00pm EST (12:00pm CST) at the Oasis Fellowship Christian Church in Vincennes. Visitation is also Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm EST (10:00am to 12:00pm CST) at the church. The body will be cremated.Memorial donations may be given to the ALS Foundation, the Paralyzed Veterans, or to the Muscual Dystrophy Foundation.
