Biography
Francis L. "Slim" Crouch, age 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away at his residence Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born January 21, 1935, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of James and Snotha (Earnest) Crouch. He made his home with his grandparents Roy and Jesse Crouch. He married Aleta Jo Stevenson on October 21, 1954.
"Slim" was a retired member of 45 years with the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 157 out of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a 30-year member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge and the Flat Rock American Legion. He was an Army veteran, having served in Germany.
Preceding "Slim" in death were his parents, one son David Wayne Crouch who died in 1983, and one sister Carol Crawford.
Survivors include his wife Aleta of Lawrenceville, two daughters Lisa (Kelly) Wells of Sumner, Illinois and Lucinda "Cindy" Coley of Newburgh, Indiana, four sisters Shirley ("J.B.") Buckner of Marshall, Illinois, JoAnn Gaither of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Sandra (Jerry) Smith of Oblong, Illinois, and Judy (Gerry)Shank of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a brother-in-law Ronnie Crawford; a sister-in-law Louise Whittaker , two step-brothers Harmon Parrott of Lawrenceville Illinois and Kennard Parrott of Ohio, two grandchildren Colton (Sara) Minnette of Evansville, Indiana and Samantha Wells of Sumner, Illinois and one great-grandchild Braydn Minnette of Evansville, Indiana, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Burial of cremains will be Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2 PM in Otterbein Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Victory Junction Gang in memory of their son, David Crouch.
