Frances 'Roberta' Curry

Frances "Roberta" Curry, 91, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away on October 18, 2014. She was born December 31, 1922, to the late Major and Bertha Griggsby. Roberta, as she was affectionately called, worked as a dietary supervisor before retiring. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. James A.M.E. Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph "Pal" M. Curry and brother, James Griggsby. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia K. (Mike) Walton; granddaughter, Andrea (Robert) Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Brianna Jenkins, R. Jelani Jenkins, II; brothers, Estel Griggsby, Major (Wilma) Griggsby, Jr. and William Griggsby. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014, from 12-2 pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2 pm.
