Forrest Dale Lewis

Forrest Dale Lewis, 70, of rural Sumner, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.  He was born September 10, 1945, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Wallace Dale and Frances Evelyn (Sizemore) Lewis. Forrest worked as a farmer for many years.  He was a veteran with the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Forrest was a member of the Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors.  He also enjoyed watching sports, including college basketball and Nascar. Preceding Forrest in death were his parents and a sister, Sharon Legg. Survivors include two sons, Scott Dale Lewis and his wife Jennifer of Fresno, California and James Wade Lewis of Lawrenceville; one sister Mary Little of Fresno, California; and five grandchildren, Sophie Camille Lewis, Dana Brynn Lewis, Alexa Rene Lewis, Aiden Scott Lewis and Ashlyn Dawn Lewis. Graveside services with military rites will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at Petty Cemetery. There is no visitation. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
