Faye Maxine Lefferson

June 6, 1923 — April 17, 2016

Faye Maxine Lefferson, formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois, departed this world April 17, 2016 to be reunited forever with her beloved "Ernie."  Her husband Ernest preceded her in death on January 22, 2002.  She was born June 6, 1923 in Salem, Illinois.  Faye and Ernest married on October 27, 1940 and spent 62 happy years together, most of them in Lawrencevlle, Illinois. Welcoming Faye into eternal rest is son-in-law Charlie Faust, her parents, Herschel Hiestand and Ruth Jenkins Hiestand, her brother Darwin Hiestand, sisters Lucille Black and Mary Kathryn Lowrey and an infant brother. Left to cherish her life are her two daughters Karen Faust of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Sharen Hillison and her husband John of Blacksburg, Virginia; grandchildren Stephanie Faust-Linden and husband Guido of Emsdetten, Germany; Valerie Faust-Sweet and husband David of Flagstaff, Arizona; Leslie Faust of Encinitas, California; Charles R. Faust, Jr. and wife Alicia of Pompano Beach, Florida; Stacy Faust-Manno and husband Chris of Pompano, Beach, Florida; Richard M. Faust of Atlanta, Georgia; Jeff Hillison and wife Michelle of Cary, North Carolina; and Jay Hillison of Roanoke, Virginia and 17 very special great-grandchildren.  Surviving is her "little" sister Barbara Jean Moore of San Antonio, Texas and good friend and helper Nina Pinnick of Lawrenceville, Illinois. Special thanks are extended to the caring staff at Continuous Care Home in Christiansburg, Virginia, where Faye spent the last two years of her life and to Good Samaritan Hospice of Blacksburg, Virginia. Faye was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a homemaker in the best sense of the word, always nurturing and loving to all who were fortunate enough to be her family or friend.  She was especially dedicated to her friends at Zion United Methodist Church who played a huge part in her life. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM at Zion United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, Illinois on Saturday, April 23rd. Visitation will precede the service at 9:00 AM at the church.  Interment at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, Illinois following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, Route 1 Box 89 Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439.
