Fay E. Hawkins

Fay E. Hawkins, age 77, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. Born May 28, 1937, in Whiting, Indiana, she was the daughter of Levi Benjamin and Sarah Florence (Waggoner) Heath. She married Billy F. Hawkins on April 14, 1957, and he survives. Fay worked at Lawrenceville National Bank for 18 years. She also worked at Delzell's Clothing Store. Fay was a very active member of Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville. She served on the board for Sign of the Kingdom East where she was also an active worker. Preceding Fay in death were her parents, two brothers Ralph and Gail Heath and one sister Frances James. Survivors include her husband, Billy F., of rural Lawrenceville; one son, Bruce (Kammie) Hawkins of St. Joseph, Illinois; one daughter Diane (Jim) Volk of Olney; one brother, Glen Heath of rural Lawrenceville; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Sumner, and Kay Whittaker of Kamiah, Idaho; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) Volk, Erin Volk, Tatum Hawkins, and Caleb Hawkins and two great-grandchildren, Kylee Volk and Levi Volk. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, at Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sign of the Kingdom East or Central Christian Church.
