Estel D. Wagner, age 78, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away February 12, 2012 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born January 6, 1934 in Sumner, IL, the son of Paul R. and Beulah (Putnam) Wagner. He married Marilyn McClain July 4, 1954 and she survives. Estel was a graduate of Bridgeport Township High School in 1952. He worked at Vincennes Steel until retirement. Estel enjoyed being a mechanic. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching college basketball. Estel was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Merle and one sister, Sylvia. Survivors include his wife Marilyn of Lawrenceville, one son David (Julia) Wagner of Indianapolis, IN; two daughters Patty (Mike) Carter of Lawrenceville and Joetta (Ron) Volkman of Evansville, IN; two brothers Hershel (Anne) Wagner of Texas and Ray "Tuck" (Barbara) Wagner of Bridgeport; ten grandchildren Trisha, Kristi, Cassie, Hayley, Drew, Marisa, Kelsey, Aaron, Jeremy, and Mary, and seven great-grandchildren Madison, Cloey, Hailey, Sydney, Allie, Ava, and Jaxson. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday at Emmons-Macey and Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Services will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in May Chapel Cemetery.
