Edward Danielsen

Edward J. Danielsen, age 78, of Lawrenceville, passed away May 7, 2014, at 7:01 p.m. at his residence. He was born September 1, 1935, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Frank and Mary (Costello) Danielsen. He married Reta McGilvrey on April 14, 1956, and she passed away November 4, 1996. Ed was a plant manager for various companies in Iowa, Indiana and Illinois. His career brought him and his family to Lawrence County in 1972. He was plant manager for such companies as Ray Proof Company/Sound Metal Engineering, Inc. He was a former partner of Halter Machine Shop. He owned and operated Danielsen Tool. Ed was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a veteran, having served with the United States Marines. He was an artist, enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his family. Preceding Ed in death were his parents, his wife Reta, one brother Michael Danielsen and one sister Mary Ellen Bloomer. Survivors include one son Tom (Marsha) Danielsen of Lawrenceville; three daughters Renee (Pat) Halter, Rebecca (Larry) Pulleyblank, and Mary (Mark) Mullen all of Lawrenceville; two brothers James R. Danielsen of Chicago, Illinois and Reverend Father Tom Danielsen of Grand Rapids, Michigan; seven grandchildren Brooke Halter York, Katie (Graham) Gher, Ryan Mullen, Rachel Mullen, Aaron Danielsen, Jacob Danielsen, and Logan Danielsen; and two great-grandchildren Pheobe Avene York and Paxton Gher. A third great-grandchild is expected in November. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Monday from 10 AM till the service hour at the church. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lawrence County Senior Citizens or Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available through the funeral home.
