Douglas A. Young

Douglas A. Young, age 68, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born on June 09, 1952, the son of Harry and Esther (Emery) Young. He married Heidi Bowers on December 29, 2001, and she survives.

Doug was Academic Chairman and a Professor in the Broadcasting Department at Vincennes University for 26 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Spenser Young of Henderson, Kentucky; two step-daughters, Kiara Jones of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Kayla Schuckert of Vincennes, Indiana; one step-son, Trey Proctor of Gainesville, Florida; one sister, Sherry Dudzinski of Peoria, Arizona; and ten step-grandchildren.

The body will be cremated and no formal services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
