Douglas S. Neer, age 55, of rural Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his residence. He was born October 2, 1957, in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of James "Jack" and Phyllis (Wildman) Neer.
Doug worked for 33 years at Marathon Oil Refinery in Robinson, IL. He was a member of the Lawrenceville Elks and the Moose.
Preceding Doug in death was his father.
Survivors include his mother Phyllis Neer of rural Lawrenceville; one son Michael (Kristina) Neer of rural Sumner, one daughter Stacy (Guy) Tewell of rural Lawrenceville; two brothers Jeff (Karen) Neer of Evansville, IN and Brian (Judy) Neer of rural Lawrenceville; one sister
Teri Niles of Bridgeport, and four grandchildren, Blain and Paige Tewell and Brody and Kaylee Neer.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service at 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Whitehouse Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available through the funeral home.
