Dr. Douglas D. Kirk,"Doc", 56, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.   Born October 17, 1959 in Vigo County, IN. He was the son of Harold W. and Bette A. (Armstrong) Kirk. On July 15, 2016, he married Dana Polley and she survives. Dr. Doug owned and operated his own Dental Practice in Lawrenceville since December 1990. He was a 1986 Graduate of Northwestern University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville where he served as Choir Director. He was a member of the B.P.O. ELKS #1208, ABATE, Moose Lodge, the American Dental Association, and the Illinois State Dental Society. He held numerous leadership positions in these organizations. He was a dedicated father, proud and loving grandfather, great brother, a loyal friend, and an amazing husband. He was a Harley Davidson Enthusiast. He "Rode a Harley and Played a Yamaha". He was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed gardening. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Along with his wife, Dana; he is survived by two daughters, Devan Webster and her husband, Alan of Flat Rock, IL and Cori Beanblossom and her husband, Todd of rural Lawrenceville, IL; a brother, Michael Kirk and his wife, Cheryl of Martinsville, IL; two sisters, Lisa Gard and her husband, Bob of Marshall, IL and Karen Weck and her husband, Randy of Olney, IL; four grandchildren, Trevan and Traycen Webster, Harley Beanblossom, and Jossalyn McCleave; two step-children, Chad and Bryn McCleave; and several nieces and nephews. He was awaiting the arrival of a grandchild, Letti Beanblossom, in October. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Trevor. The funeral will be Friday, September 9 at 10:00 AM CST at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM CST at the church. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, IN at 2:00 PM, Friday. Memorial donations may be given to the First United Methodist Church.
