Dorothy Ellen Moore Newell April 16, 1926 - December 29, 2014 Dorothy Ellen Moore Newell, 88, of Sumner, IL passed away Monday December 29, 2014 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL She was born April 16, 1926 in Lukin Township, IL the daughter of Walter Robert and Floe (Shick) Moore. She married Lewis W. Newell on December 31, 1947. He died on November 6, 1991. Dorothy worked alongside her husband on their family farm. She was a member of the Christian Church of Sumner. She is survived by a sister-in-law: Lora Mae Moore of Bridgeport, IL and by several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother Charles R. Moore. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00pm at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 until 7:00pm. Burial will be at the Gillead Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Christian Church of Sumner.
