Doris York, age 92 of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away, Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born August 24, 1930 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Everett and Teretha (Rule) Ullom. She married Donald York on November 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2017.
Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Hills Department Store for 10 years and TA Broulette & Sons for 18 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
Survivors include one son, Douglas A. York and wife Janet of Springfield, Illinois, one granddaughter Jennifer York, and Roy Neeley, companion.
Public graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, May 23, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the May Chapel Cemetery. There is no public visitation. Memorials in Doris’s memory may be made to First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
