Doris Archibald

Doris Archibald, 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her residence. She was born January 30, 1933 in Billett, Illinois, the daughter of Herman O. and Nomah (Gher) Dining. She married Jackson C. ‘Jack' Archibald on May 19, 1951 and he survives. Doris was a homemaker. Her memberships included the Billett United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, John R. Dining, Jerry O. Dining, and Bobby H. Dining; and one sister, Evelyn Clark. Survivors include her husband, Jack; one son, Steve Archibald and wife, Lisa, of St. Francisville, Illinois; two daughters, Cinda Poe and husband, Bill, of Vincennes, Indiana and Susie Diggs and husband, Larry, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM CST. Burial will be in the Billett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doris' memory may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center, or the Billett United Methodist Church.
