Donna Barrett

Donna Barrett, age 84, of Sumner, Illinois passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born March 6, 1933 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Beulah (Crouch) Howe. She married Don Barrett on December 27, 1975 and he survives. Donna worked with physically and mentally handicapped adults at Pine Lawn. She was a member of the Sumner United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Harold Howe, William Howe and Richard Howe; one sister, Lola Holmes; and two grandsons, Ryan Aycock and Bobby Ingram. Survivors include her husband, Don; one son, Donald Ralston and wife, Donna, of Bicknell, Illinois; two daughters, Joyce Liechty Smith of Jasper, Alabama and Roberta Liechty Martin and husband, Mike, of Santan Valley, Arizona; ten grandchildren, Joseph Higginbotham, Paula Pate (Benny), Erica Kane Loveridge (Ben), Jodi Bennett (Floyd), Donnetta Pummel (Kenny), Jeremiah Ralston (Britney), Jacob Ralston, Kody Singer, Keith Singer, and Amanda Martin; 28 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Sumner United Methodist Church.
