Donald E. Rogers, 80, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Sunday May 31, 2009 at Lawrence Community Healthcare in Bridgeport, IL.He was born August 19m 1928 in Lawrence County, IL the son of William H. and Ruth (Pargin) Rogers. On August 19, 1950 he married Peggy Davis. She survives.He worked for the Lawrence County Highway Department as a Machine Operator. He was a member of the New Hope Christian Church. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII.He is survived by a son: Donald E. and wife Janet Rogers Jr. of Lawrenceville, IL, a daughter: Deanna and husband Ed Brian of Lawrenceville, IL, a sister: Violet Douglas of Vincennes, IN, 4 grandchildren: Chad Brian, Robyn O'neal, Brandon Rogers, Brett Rogers, and a great-grandchild: Luke O'neal. A brother and 2 sisters are deceased.The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crest Haven memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
