Donald Ray Potts

Donald Ray Potts, age 60, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his residence. He was born on March 29, 1962 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Linda (Wampler) Potts.

Don worked at McDonald’s Restaurant in Lawrenceville, Illinois as grill cook. He was a member of the ELKS, American Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed spending time at the clubs and sitting by the campfire.

Preceding him in death were his father; a brother, Tom; a sister in infancy; and a nephew, Jeremy Potts.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Potts of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a son, Jared Potts and wife, Katie of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a brother, Larry Potts and his wife, Bonita of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a grandson, Bryce of Lawrenceville, Illinois; and a nephew, Charlie Potts.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 12:00 PM CST at the Lawrenceville VFW, located at 511 12th Street. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
